The geometries incorporated into the design mated with the improved shifter positioning makes for an unbeatable experience. The narrow 3" wide profile fits neatly between the seats. The mounting brackets (included) mount the shifter directly to the existing e-brake bolt holes (3-bolt style) found in the pre-964 series 911's. For pre-964 cars as mentioned above the e-brake is retained. The shifter mounts using the same 3 bolts as the e-brake. To retain use of the e-brake you will need to adjust all the slack out of the cables because you will loose e-brake handle travel. Some chassis modifications may be required depending on your particular application. HPP does not warranty any fitment or use of heater controls or e-brake usage and no returns are allowed for such reasons. HPP is not responsible for your particular car or installation. The mounting of the shifter greatly improves the "knob" position for the driver. Instead of leaning forward to shift just drop your hand off the steering wheel and its right there. A much more tight and precise throw can be keenly felt by the driver. One of the unique design aspects of our shifter is a sprung loaded 3rd/4th gear plane. This aspect improves the driving experience like no other. If you've driven a car with a G50 then you know how this function enhances the driving and shifting feel.
